EMAC offers training programs for senior biotech regulators, policy makers and other stakeholders from the public and the private sectors. A regular offering is the Biotech Regulation Immersion Course (MU-BRIC) which is a two week course co-organized with the University of Ghent, Belgium.

The course consists of two blocks: The first week offers an introduction to biotechnology, to national and international regulations, training in complying with biosafety regulations and impact assessment of regulations, as well as socioeconomic impacts of biotechnology and various biosafety regulations.

The second week includes a tour of biotech laboratories, field trials, farmers’ fields, and various parts of the grain supply chain. Participants from more than 40 countries have attended the course in recent years.
